London marketing agency The&Partnership has been appointed creative agency of record in a deal worth £35m.

The stunning win sees T&P wrestle the account from rival agency M&C Saatchi, which has held the account for more than 20 years.

“We can confirm The & Partnership London has been appointed as NatWest’s Creative Agency of Record”, a spokesperson for the bank brand said

“After a short process with our roster agencies during the summer, The & Partnership was appointed to lead on our 2020 activity.

Passion, enthusiasm, energy

“We’ve loved the passion, enthusiasm and energy with which they’ve approached this brief, so it makes sense to continue this partnership and appoint them as our official Creative Agency of Record.

“We thank M&C for all of their work over more than two decades for NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland”, the NatWest spokesperson added.

“This will not impact the work of M&C Saatchi Sports & Entertainment who will continue to lead on sponsorship activity for NatWest, most notably on NatWest’s longstanding cricket partnership.”

Real bank, real brand

Sarah Golding, ceo, The&Partnership UK, said: “NatWest is a real bank, and a real brand in a world of emerging challengers.

“We couldn’t be more delighted to help NatWest fulfil its huge potential in a rapidly changing market”.

The&Partnership has a long-standing relationship with RBS (owners of Natwest) through its in-house studios at RBS HQ, Edinburgh.
