Social media agency, The Social Element, has hired Virgin Red’s Marketing Director, Linn Frost, as its new Managing Director of UK and Europe.

The role was created for Linn and will see her lead the agency’s next phase of growth in the region.

Frost will be joining The Social Element to grow and strengthen all areas of the agency’s operations across UK and Europe, from strategic and creative execution and new business development to client relations and operations.

She brings 20 years of agency and brand side experience to enable The Social Element to better understand and support client needs, and will use her extensive brand expertise to champion a social-first approach to marketing.

Linn Frost

Frost has spent the last two decades as an innovative brand builder and marketeer in senior roles at Ogilvy, Tonic Agency and Truant London, working for brands including Dove, BP, Bacardi, M&S and The British Army.

She now leaves her role as the Marketing Director for Virgin Red, Virgin’s rewards club, where she worked with the brand and acquisition teams to build a new exciting destination for Virgin customers whilst enabling Virgin to excite and reach new audiences.

Supporting emerging talent from all backgrounds and challenges will also be a key focus for Frost in her new role.

As a marketing leader with a dyslexia diagnosis, she is a champion for neurodiversity across the industry and was recently part of the ‘Made by Dyslexia’ campaign with Virgin to highlight the superpower of working and thinking in a different way.

She hopes to continue this work in her role at The Social Element.

Previously, she also established an apprenticeship programme at Truant London to support emerging talent from diverse backgrounds, and whilst at Ogilvy and Truant, she established pro-bono initiatives to support charities with free marketing and advertising support, including helping to kick start the End Youth Homelessness initiative.

Frost will report directly to The Social Element CEO and founder, Tamara Littleton and the Executive Board.

“I jumped at the chance for this new role at The Social Element”, Frost said.

“Even as a client I have always bought into Tamara and the unique and special way that her agency has been built. The Social Element is truly a fantastic place to work that empowers its people.

“Even from an outside perspective it’s clear that its people have fun whilst delivering consistently above-bar work for their clients.

“My ambition is to come in and make us bigger and bolder, and help our clients build stronger genuine connections with their customers.

“Having been on both sides of the aisle, I can bring a unique perspective on how we can get the best out of our clients and vice versa, and I’m so excited to be doing it alongside a business and culture that truly celebrates and uplifts its people.”

Littleton said: “Not only is Linn a wonderful friend and client, but she is also a true marketing powerhouse with an astounding background and extensive experience across the industry.

“I could not think of anyone better to lead the European charge to take us, our clients and our capabilities to new heights as part of our mission to show the importance of a social-first and human approach to marketing.

“I’m so excited to be working alongside Linn and the rest of the team as we carve out a new and exciting path for social media – watch this space!”
