Diamonds may well have once been a girl’s best friend, but now it’s possible for anyone who dreams of donning one of Tiffany & Co.’s iconic jewellery pieces to do so through the smartphone in the palm of their hand.

Social platform Snap has announced a first of its kind partnership with Tiffany & Co. – celebrating 185 years of the House of Tiffany & Co. with an immersive augmented reality experience, created exclusively with Snapchat.

Tiffany AR experience

Snap has partnered with the famous jeweller to create a total of four immersive augmented reality lenses, as part of the retailer’s exhibition, Vision & Virtuosity, at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

Using Snap’s augmented reality technology, including Camera Kit (which gives partners the opportunity to bring the best of Snap’s camera for AR try-on right to their own apps), Snapchatters and exhibition visitors can now immerse themselves in the world of the jewellery brand.

From transforming the iconic facade of the Saatchi Gallery into a wall of diamonds through Snap’s Custom Landmarker technology, to exploring a Virtual Try-On experience of the famous Tiffany Diamond (worn by Audrey Hepburn and Beyonce) within Tiffany & Co.’s app, to unlocking immersive AR experiences from anywhere in the world on Snapchat.

These AR experiences can be found on the brand’s Snapchat – @tiffanyofficial – and exclusively within the Tiffany & Co. app.

Building on this immersive AR experience, Tiffany is also running a global ad campaign – taking the experience across multiple geographies, into its exhibition and out in the world through people’s smartphones.

Geoffrey Perez, Global Head of Luxury at Snap, said: “At Snap, we believe that through the camera, we can empower people to experience art, culture and fashion in completely new ways.

“This partnership is a first of its kind – combining augmented reality with one of the world’s most iconic luxury brands, giving people ways unlike ever before to experience the Tiffany-verse.”
