Smyle launches snowball fight immersive Christmas card

Award-winning creative agency Smyle has become internationally famous for its digital immersive experiences – so fittingly, it’s launching a festive online snowball fight game this month rather than sending out boring old traditional Christmas cards in the post.

Smyle snowball game

Launching on 14 December, the agency will be emailing the fun Smyle snowball game in lieu of a physical seasons greetings card to its enviable global client list, and of course all their fabulous freelance talent.

The game will be accompanied with a digital Christmas card saying: “Looking forward to a time when we can all see each other again for real, but until then, have a fabulous, festive time, and we’ll carry on finding creative ways to connect”.

With the new Omicron COVID variant causing concern about social mixing, actual good old fashioned snowball fights are somewhat out of the question right now, even if the white stuff has fallen in your neighbourhood.

Hence London and Hertford-based Smyle creating a virtual version, complete with retro graphics, to bring a festive smile to everyone’s faces.

To gamify further, the top five high scores will win a special gift for themselves, further increasing the Christmas cheer.

Play the game

Even if you’re not a client or freelancer at Smyle, as it’s the season of goodwill, you too can play the game here.

Complete with a snazzy jingle-bell filled soundtrack, the seasonal shoot ‘em up sees you challenged to a snowball fight with the Smyle team. You simply add your player name and off you go against four Smyle team avatars.

To play, you click on opponents to throw at them to win points and you must hit them with your virtual snowball before they return fire and ‘take a life’.

You can throw 10 snowballs before you have to reload and multiple successful hits will earn a special Multi Throw attack.

But be warned – each round increases in difficulty, so you’ll need to be a sharp shooter to earn a place on the Smyle Snowball Fight Top 10 leaderboard.

Currently, someone called Barndog is in top spot with a whopping 34,100 points.

This cool innovation for Yule is just the latest from Smyle, which has won more than 70 industry awards and who were recently awarded Campaign Best Places to Work in 2021 and Agency of the Year Campaign Experience Awards in 2021.

The agency also won Agency of the Year The Drum Experience Awards, Agency of the Year C&IT Awards, Agency of the Year EVCOM Live Awards and C&IT Best Places to Work Awards last year.

Smyle launched in 2003 as a production company and quickly evolved into an experience-focused creative agency, with a passion for innovation, developing additional in-house services to evolve its offering to clients.

It prides itself on creating extraordinary live, virtual and real-life experiences.

By fusing creativity and technical innovation together, Smyle aims to take people beyond the ‘ordinary’ and to bold and inventive places, whether face-to-face or online, or via a fun virtual snowball fight for Christmas.
