Old Speckled Hen’s Henry the Fox returns amid lockdown

Old Speckled Hen, the UK traditional premium ale, has brought roguish character Henry the Fox back in a new campaign aimed at keeping the nation smiling through lockdown.

Created by independent creative agency isobel and its comedy department, led by comedian, writer and broadcaster Mike Shephard, the campaign aims to bring the trials and tribulations of life in lockdown experienced by the nation to the front of the comedy stage.

Henry plays the role of stand-up comedian, making curious observations about the world around him.

Given the current times, he’s observing a lot of working from home and newly found lockdown habits – including attempted exercise and guilty takeaway confessions a few of us may recognise all too well.

Going live on All4, ITV Hub and Sky, Old Speckled Hen hopes to bring laughter in the ad break to people who can make light of a pretty strange year.

You might also catch Henry out and about in OOH on bus shelters, too, helping remind the quieter streets that it’s OK to smile at our new-found bizarre way of life.

The campaign broke on Monday 22 March across OOH, VOD, Digital and social.

“Old Speckled Hen’s sales in supermarkets have grown strongly through lockdown, and we’re delighted to give it an extra push with our latest campaign”, David Spencer, Marketing Controller for Old Speckled Hen said.

“Drinking Old Speckled Hen is a unique pleasure that everyone deserves to discover. Our aim is to attract plenty of new drinkers to the cause, entertaining them as we go.”
