Monster Energy launches high octane athletes campaign by Cut Media

Glasgow content house Cut Media has created a campaign for Monster Energy, called #ComeWithUs, which takes viewers behind the scenes with the drink brand’s world-class athlete roster to look at their lives, stories and experiences.

The campaign is a global cross-platform effort that takes fans into the lives of Monster’s next generation of elite athletes.

Seven powerful hero films and supporting assets follow Monster athletes training, recovering, and building up to monumental moments in their careers in a series produced, created and directed by Scotland-based global sports content studio Cut Media.

Featuring UFC Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, rally royalty Oliver Solberg, X Games Freeski Champion Giulia Tanno, Moto GP rising star Fabio Quartararo, big wave surfer Nic Von Rupp and freestyle mountain biker Adolf Silva, the campaign is made for the fans first and foremost, the firm said.

It takes them on an intimate behind-the-scenes journey that shows all the rawness and drama of the athletes’ lives and sports that they love. 

Activating the #ComeWithUs messaging across multiple channels and platforms, the campaign positions Monster Energy as an engaged and conscious supporter of the communities each athlete represents.

Showing an intimate relationship between the athletes and their fans in a credible and relatable light was crucial to realising the brief, and the central focus of Cut Media’s creative approach, the agency said. 

High-end cinematography in combination with self-shooting and archive material gives the viewer the feeling that each athlete is taking individual fans on a personal journey.

Travel restrictions

Created in the face of global travel restrictions and local lockdowns by leveraging an international network of collaborators and crew across Europe, the campaign’s success is a testament to the agility and resourcefulness of Cut Media’s integrated creative and production services.

The campaign launched last week across Monster Energy’s social channels and website, with the hero films being hosted on YouTube, and will be cross-promoted by the athletes on their respective social channels using the hashtag #ComeWithUs.
