Former Johannes Leonardo and No Problem executive Adam Gong joins multidisciplinary creative company Midnight Creative Group as Global Production Director as it looks to expand its production offering beyond advertising and marketing.
His remit will span global production, talent and Midnight’s ambitions in entertainment and IP.
Adam Gong
Gong joins following 15 years working in the US, most recently as Founding Partner at Los Angeles-based No Problem and previously at Johannes Leonardo. Having recently returned to London, he will take on a global remit across Midnight, with an initial focus on growing the company’s US production business. He will report directly to Founder and Group CEO, Ben Moutrie.
The appointment comes at a point of significant change for the creative industries. The rapid growth of the creator economy is reshaping relationships between brands, talent and production; AI is making execution faster and more accessible; and branded entertainment is increasingly moving from the fringes of advertising into the mainstream.
For Midnight, those shifts make the ability to make more important, not less. As technology lowers the barrier to producing content at scale, the company believes craft, judgement, talent and taste will become increasingly valuable differentiators – and that the next generation of creative businesses will need the capability to make everything from advertising to entertainment, original formats and IP.
“Brands are competing as much with each other as they are with media empires built by 20-year-olds from their bedrooms,” Gong said. “The businesses that win this will be the ones who can craft and create, not just concept and pitch.”
That conviction is drawn from experience. During his five years at No Problem Studios — a non-traditional agency founded on the belief that entertainment, not interruption, is what makes modern brand work stick — Gong held a cross-agency leadership role, working with clients including Activision, King, Samsung, Pernod Ricard, Amazon and Moonbug.
Notable work includes series one and two of Samsung’s reality show Exposure, the relaunch of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4, and multiple years of Candy Crush All Stars. Before that, he was Director of Production, BBH Entertainment at BBH LA between 2019 and 2022, and Senior Producer at Johannes Leonardo, where he worked on adidas Originals.
Gong will provide senior production leadership across Midnight globally, strengthening the relationship between creative and production and helping build the infrastructure required for the company’s next phase of growth.
He will also play a central role in the growth of ZERO, Midnight Creative Group’s production studio, building and elevating its talent roster and establishing its independent reputation within the industry. His longer-term remit includes laying the foundations for a new production venture spanning long-form, entertainment and original IP.
“It’s the ability to do more that will help Midnight establish itself in new territories,” Gong added.
The move reflects a wider ambition for Midnight™ to create cultural properties as well as campaigns — building the production capability to make entertainment-grade work, rather than simply pitch it.
It follows an industry-wide shift prominent at Cannes this year, where branded entertainment was increasingly positioned not as an extension of advertising, but as work competing directly with film, series, games, music, creators and streamers for people’s attention.
“We’re thrilled Adam has decided to join us – his arrival marks a brilliant shift in capability for the company, as we invest more deeply in how our ideas are made, crafted and amplified,” said Moutrie. “It’s rare to meet someone of Adam’s experience, taste and clear passion for breaking the mould.”
Gong joined Midnight in September 2026.
