MAD//Fest Murmers – Day 3

Day 3 – the final day of MAD//Fest London has just wrapped, and the event has delivered some interesting and thought provoking next steps – and all this despite the fact that a major general election was going on at the same time.

So what were people chattering about in between the big sessions on the final day?

Our industry sleuths were roaming around and this is what they picked up from the floor on day 3…

Brands should feel empowered by sustainability

Did you know that one digital campaign emits the same amount of carbon emissions as seven people in one year?

This isn’t to cause panic, but small steps can make a big difference over time, and our industry should feel empowered that they can be part of a positive change.

Utilising tech that better targets consumers only when necessary, we are reducing our emissions and footprint.

OBE, MBE and all around icon, Vanessa Kingori, shared her thoughts on self-brand.

The key message? It is important to step out into the world exactly as you are, not fitting any particular boxes, but bringing your authentic self which is, in turn, your most valuable self.

F*ck being humble

In an incredibly empowering session with Stefanie Sword-Williams, we were taught how to self-promote and be more intentional in how we tell our story.

Discomfort is temporary but the payoff can be extraordinary and that’s a message that really resonated.

Soaking it all up: Life’s a Beach, so enjoy all you do.

Tech to watch

On the hex stage, AI, Blockchain and the Metaverse were all mentioned as tech that will be critical to the future of our industry and businesses in general.

First Party Data also remains a major key to help drive AI forward with personalisation.

Fortune Favours the Bold

As MAD//fest came to a close, the resounding theme of Fortune Favours the Bold was rigging true across every stage.

Brands, agencies, media owners and tech alike should be true to themselves and fearless to succeed.
