IMPACT+ names James Jones as new CMO


IMPACT+, the pioneer in measuring the carbon footprint of digital advertising campaigns, has recently appointed James Jones as Chief Marketing Officer, to help advance education and understanding of sustainability practices in advertising.

Working closely with the company’s co-founders, Jones will build out the marketing function, to support IMPACT+’s business growth through marketing engagement and activation, and by driving new leads and business for sales teams.

As a spokesperson of the company, Jones’ key focus will be to drive awareness of IMPACT+’s offerings, as well as to educate the advertising industry on sustainable practices, through participation in events, keynotes, and masterclasses.

With nearly 20 years of experience in B2B tech marketing across multiple sectors, Jones most recently served as the Senior Director of International Marketing, at Xandr, joining the business when it was known as AppNexus, prior to its acquisition by AT&T.

In this role, Jones shaped the business’ proposition and supported its expansion into international markets.

Throughout his career, Jones has worked with start-ups, as well as small and large organisations, helping build brands’ reputations, and driving growth at a global scale.

IMPACT+’s work to drive sustainability in the advertising industry inspired Jones to embark on a new, meaningful journey.

Speaking on his appointment, Jones said: “The advertising ecosystem is the lifeblood of the internet and funds so much of the incredible content we all have access to, but that comes with an environmental cost which the industry is still struggling to understand.

IMPACT+ has led the way in building the solutions that enable industry players to measure the environmental impact of their campaigns, and work with their clients to reduce this, whilst still delivering against their goals.

IMPACT+ has recently secured €2 million in a seed funding round to build its subscription-based platform, extend its proprietary technology research and development team, and accelerate its international expansion.
