Helena Bonham Carter fronts sumptuous new Sofology ad by the7stars

Leading furniture retailer, Sofology, has harnessed the uniquely imaginative world of Helena Bonham Carter for their latest campaign “Bring Imagination to Life”.

Created and produced by the7stars, this represents the agency’s debut creative campaign since expanding Supernova, to include their new in-house creative production studio for clients.

At ‘home’ with Helena

The 30-second spot features an imagined journey through Helena’s home, where her eclectic style provides the magical backdrop to a range of Sofology furniture and accessories.

The ad opens in her dressing room where butterflies and blossom frame a magical mirror transition, before we follow Helena into a garden room where she is served tea by an enchanted tea set.

With a clever ‘practical’ effect, the whole room set spins and we are transported into her living room as Helena relaxes into her sofa with a piece of golden cake.

The BAFTA-winning actress narrates to camera as she muses about everyday creativity, imagination and all the little style decisions that define us all as individuals.

She closes the piece with Sofology’s long running strapline: “Feel at home on a sofa you love”.

The work was created and produced by the7stars and directed by Chris Cottam. The partnership between Sofology and Helena Bonham Carter was spearheaded and managed by Talent Republic, long-time collaborators of the brand and specialists in A-List talent-led campaigns.

It launches today (Monday 24 May) on ITV1 in ‘Long Lost Family: Born Without Trace’ (21.15), which is predicted to bring in 1.8m impacts.

Acting imagination

“As an actress, I make my living using my imagination – pretending to be other people. But even when not acting, I try to live my daily life with imagination, otherwise it can be sooooo boring”, Bonham Carter said. 

“When we are children, our imagination is in full flow and I think, sometimes, as adults we let it atrophy, we forget to play, have fun and give up on dreams. 

“Sofology’s ‘Bring imagination to Life’ campaign is an appeal to have fun and express the imagination that is unique to you – however different or bonkers we are.”

TV is bought by Mediacom and is supported by online video, print, and radio, planned and booked by the7stars. 

The TV strategy combines 30″ and 10″ over the year-long campaign to maximise effective use of airtime and cultivate the brand’s growth. 

The always-on presence is supported with a mix of VOD to ensure a balanced reach across all target audiences.
