With a career spanning almost 25 years across global media, technology, and telecommunications, Borestrom brings deep international experience and a passion for connecting people and ideas that drive industry progress.
He currently serves as Director, International Agency Development for EMEA and LATAM at LinkedIn, where he helps global agencies and brands leverage data-driven marketing to achieve sustainable growth.
A long-time advocate of the IAA’s global mission, Borestrom has been involved with the association since 2007, serving as President of IAA UK in 2017, becoming Chair in 2024, and now stepping into the World President role in 2025.
Under his leadership, IAA UK has become one of the largest and most active chapters worldwide.
In his new role, Borestrom will be responsible for setting the IAA’s vision, working alongside the newly appointed Leadership Team, as the association continues to champion responsible, ethical, and sustainable marketing that drives good growth for brands, businesses, and the world.
“It’s a privilege to lead an organisation that, for more than 87 years, has united our global marketing, media, and advertising community across more than 56 countries,” said Borestrom.
“As we begin this new chapter, I’m inspired by the incredible leaders and chapters that make up our IAA family, and by our shared belief that what got us here, won’t get us there.
“As the leading global industry association, the IAA plays a vital role as a global platform for dialogue, education, and advocacy, and I am excited to continue our mission to strengthen the marketing communications ecosystem, responsibly and inclusively, with integrity at its core.”
Sasan Saeidi said: “It’s been an honour to serve the IAA, and as I pass the baton, I can’t think of a better person to take the lead.
“Fredrik’s proven leadership, depth of experience, and steadfast commitment to collaboration make him exceptionally well-suited to guide the IAA into its next chapter.
“I have every confidence that under his guidance, the association will continue to grow, evolve, and thrive in an ever-changing landscape.”
The IAA Global Elections were held In Milan to appoint the incoming Global Leadership Team for the 2025–2028 term.
