IPG Mediabrands agency UM has appointed Enyi Nwosu to the newly created role of Chief Strategy Officer.

The firm said the move is to bolster its ‘Better Art’ and product offering in the UK.

Enyi Nwosu

Nwosu joins UM from Mindshare, where he was Partner and Head of Strategy, Worldwide, leading a team of 45 specialists.

Prior to that, he was Managing Director of M&C Saatchi’s Central Strategy Unit – and he brings 27 years of media experience to the role.

As Chief Strategy Officer, Enyi will oversee UM’s strategy team as well as its specialist content wing, UM Studios. He’ll be responsible for identifying and embracing new thinking that will drive momentum and growth across all of UM’s clients.

Rachel Forde, CEO of UM UK, said: “We’re about to embark on a hugely exciting chapter at UM.

“With arguably the best data and audience offering in the industry, our ambition is to connect that science to our art and creativity to take a world-class integrated product to our clients.

Realising vision

“Enyi will be instrumental in helping us realise that vision. His passion and energy, combined with his vast experience across strategy and content, will bring even more momentum to our agency.

“I can’t wait to have him on board.”

Of his appointment, Nwosu commented: “I’m really looking forward to joining Rachel and the team at UM.

“It’s an agency that occupies a really exciting space and has fantastic momentum, and I’m excited about helping the team deliver industry-defining work and becoming a new kind of partner to clients.

“I’ve had six great years at Mindshare and am ready for this new chapter.”

Nwosu will report into CEO Rachel Forde.
