Covatic expands leadership team with two new hires


Covatic, developer of a best-in-class privacy-first audience targeting solution, today announced two new appointments to strengthen its leadership team.

Sarah Lawson Johnston (left, main pic) has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), while Sarah Whitfield (right, main pic) has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Lawson Johnston brings two decades of leadership experience in the advertising technology industry to Covatic; having previously spent three years as part of the company’s launch team.

Familiar with the business as a current Chair of the Board, she will devise the long-term vision for the company as the new CRO, working closely with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to implement strategies that promote business growth.

Before joining Covatic, Lawson Johnston was EVP, Managing Director of Agency Partnerships EMEA at enterprise media platform HudsonMX, where she drove the company’s commercial strategy with a focus on client success, revenue generation, and partnerships.

She previously served as Managing Director, Europe at Mediaocean, where she led the company’s European business and client relationships – overseeing offices in the UK, France, and Germany.

Whitfield joins Covatic from Pearson, a global learning company, where she worked as Vice President of Global Marketing, driving the digital transformation of marketing across direct-to-consumer and business-to-business globally.

She previously held several senior leadership roles, including VP of Marketing Communications, Global at AOL, VP of Global Marketing Programmes & Corporate Communications at Outbrain, and as VP of Marketing at Buzzoole Group.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Whitfield has earned several accolades recognising her work, including a Broadcast Press Guild Award, a Webby Award, and two BAFTA nominations.

As the new CMO, she will lend her global leadership skills to developing and executing marketing strategies that differentiate Covatic in the marketplace; bringing the company to a global stage and framing it as a pioneer in the industry.
