Brand design agency Lewis Moberly has appointed Ben Sillence as a Director of Strategy with immediate effect.
Sillence is the former Global Design Manager of Maltesers and Dove Galaxy.
He’ll be responsible for supporting the agency in expanding its client roster and growing the already well-established perception of the agency as experts and thought leaders in branding and design.
The firm said he will focus on showcasing insight and foresight within Lewis Moberly work. He’ll play a key role in continuing to attract multinational brands to the business.
Lewis Moberly collaborations
Additionally, Sillence will nurture close collaborations between Lewis Moberly and its entrepreneurial, challenger brands that strive for disruption within the market.
Prior to joining Lewis Moberly, Sillence spent 14 years working in design, the majority of which he spent at agencies. His last position was with Mars Wrigley where he was Head of Design for Dove Galaxy and Malteasers.
There, he led the innovation workstreams and creative direction for both brands. This provided him with invaluable experience in developing a ‘client mindset’ whilst broadening his awareness of how best a design agency should operate both within global teams as well as within local markets in order to develop and launch successful, experience-led propositions.
This role involved engaging directly with almost every function within the company, providing a comprehensive understanding of the complexity and challenges in taking a product into market.
COVID challenges
“The creative industry, from branding and packaging through to theatre and live music, is experiencing challenges on a scale never seen before”, Sillence said.
“The solutions to the crisis we face will come from the innate talent and ability of our industry to create and inspire.
“I am thrilled to be joining Lewis Moberly at this turning point. It is a delight to now be working directly alongside two of the most well-respected leaders of the creative industry, Mary Lewis and Robert Moberly.”
Mary Lewis at Lewis Moberly said: “Our strategic and creative work are well integrated at LM and we were drawn to his empathy with design.
“Ben will bring a wealth of experience directing leader brands and innovation workstreams central to our business.”
Since its foundation in 1984, Lewis Moberly has worked with some of the most well-known and best loved consumer brands; including Johnnie Walker, Selfridges and Waitrose Cooks amongst others.
Most recently, it’s nurtured beauty start-up, Skin Sapiens, from a business launched less than two years ago on a kitchen table to an award-winning brand stocked at a major department store.
